We have many activities during our celebration weekend, from exciting keynote speakers to college, high school, and alumni hockey games, and more. Locations and directions for many of our final venues, as well as times and details, will be filled in as we go, so refresh this page every time you visit! Below you will find the most current list of events:

Thursday, February 8th

Youth Hockey Fundraiser

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Kirkland Art Center – The Clinton Comet Youth Hockey Association will host Pat Kelly and others from the legendary Clinton Comets for a kick-off reception and fundraiser. Light snacks will be provided by Across the Row Bistro, while soda, beer, and wine—donated by McCraith Beverages—will be available. Tickets at the door are $10/adult and $5/child.

All proceeds will benefit Clinton Youth Hockey programs.

Friday, February 9th

Village of Clinton – Local restaurants and merchants open

1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Clinton Historical Society – Open to the public, with special exhibits featuring the Clinton Comets team of ‘67-68, the Arena fire on September 11, 1953, and much more hockey history. At 2:00 p.m., Town Historian Richard Williams will give a talk about hockey in Clinton.

5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Hamilton College – Hamilton alumni registration and reception at Fillius Events Barn

5:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Clinton Arena – Mohawk Valley Pioneers of Women’s Ice Hockey

7:15 p.m.  Clinton Arena – Unveiling of Albert Prettyman banner and the Arena’s restored vintage time clock honoring the legendary Clinton Comets

7:30 p.m.  Clinton Arena – Clinton High School vs. Rome Free Academy – Ceremonial puck drop by local NHL stars Nicholas Palmieri of Clinton and Tim Sestito of Rome

9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.  Hamilton College – All are welcome to join us for outdoor skating at the Babbitt Pavilion

Saturday, February 10th

Village of Clinton – Local restaurants and merchants open

8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Clinton Arena – Numerous Clinton High School alumni games. Full breakfast available in upstairs lobby of Arena for a small charge.

9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Russell Sage Rink – Hamilton men’s alumni hockey games

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Hamilton College Burke Library – Luncheon and lecture on the creation of the first hockey mask – Don Spencer ’59 and Fred Addis

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Clinton Historical Society – Open for browsing exhibits

10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.  Clinton Arena – Hamilton College Continentals, men’s hockey practice. Open to the public.

2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Clinton Central School Performing Arts Theater – Keynote program featuring three nationally recognized hockey personalities: Guy Hebert, Hamilton ’89; Pat Kelly, former player coach of the Clinton Comets; and Stan Fischler, hockey historian. Mr. Fischler’s appearance sponsored by the Clinton Historical Society.

4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Village of Clinton – Fire and Ice Celebration. The Alexander Hamilton Institute, located in the former Alexander Hamilton Inn, will host an autograph signing celebration on the first floor of this historic inn. At the same time, the Clinton Fire Department will offer refreshments at the nearby firehouse. Activities in the village park will include an outdoor fire pit, sledding, and games for children.

7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Clinton Arena – Hamilton Continentals vs. Connecticut College Camels. Ceremonial puck drop by All-time Hamilton scoring leaders Tim Norbeck ’60, Peter Kennedy ’70, and Mike Marta ’84.

Sunday, February 11th

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Russell Sage Rink – Hamilton Continentals vs. Tufts Jumbos.

Weekend activities throughout the village including exhibits at the Kirkland Art Center, Clinton Historical Society, Kirkland Town Library, Burke Library, Clinton Arena, and Alteri’s Restaurant.
