Adirondack Ice Bowl Documentary
A 2014 documentary captured the competition and celebration of the open air tournament held on the Fulton Chain of Lakes in the Adirondack State Park. Beginning in 2009 on First Lake through 2017 on Fourth Lake, the O’Briens of Clinton, the MacDiarmids from New Hartford, and various and sundry friends and relatives pitched in to create one of the best run and most satisfying ‘pond hockey’ tournaments in the Northeast. Six person teams from as far afield as Holland and Mexico competed with teams from around New England and the Middle States but with a heavy emphasis on the Clinton, Utica, Rome, New Hartford, and Whitesboro area. While the temperature was sometimes bitter, the handshakes and camaraderie were warm and sincere.
