1977 – Bill Driscoll
I was the first real women’s ice hockey coach. Zemo and Shawn had girls on the ice informally, but the Women’s AD Channing Richardson asked me to start the program formally and begin intercollegiate play. I was the coach for two years (‘77-’79) while I attended Hamilton as a student, and was also a member of the men’s varsity hockey team. I will put together a short recap of my remembrances of the beginning program. I also know the names of many of the first players.
